We manufacture our snap bar bags in the UK too. The company we have partnered with use PLA derived from vegetable starches (potato, sugar beet etc.). Making the bags fully biodegradable and compostable means they can break down to CO2, H20 and biomass which can then be reused in the eco system to make new plants. The process of degrading happens either in a home or commercial composter but in commercial composting the temperature will be much higher and the process therefore much, much quicker. In a colder home composter it will take a lot longer. So you can simply dispose of these in your normal waste.
